Adam Laroche ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Francisco Liriano mowed down
10 Caracas batters as the sizzling Dublin Pubcrawlers defeated the Caracas
Leones by a score of 7 to 1 at the ballpark.
Laroche enjoyed a big day at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the
park in the 2nd inning, blasted a solo shot (his 25th of the season) in the
4th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the 8th inning. Dublin
managed 7 in their victory.
Liriano(11-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Brad Penny(13-12) ended up with the loss. He allowed 3
homeruns in 7 innings of work.
Liriano was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'
